Posted by Matt ![]() The big man behind the running FIFATOLOGY, a brand new era of patches for FIFA 2001, has some words to all the FIFATOLOGY fans. Being one myself, I look forward to everything he has to say about it: The patch will release this weekend (March 16th or 17th)! So get ready 4 the revolution! A lot of people asked the team how the patch will work - As you know, FIFATOLOGY will feature badges in the popups and every team with its own stadium, chants, fans, fanblocks, etc. - but how is that possible? It was rumoured a lot ... now the FIFATOLOGY-team has decided to explain you how it works. It's a program that runs in the background. This program reads the userfile and realizes which teams are chosen. For these teams, the program installs the specific stadiums, fans, chants, etc. in about some seconds :) This background program called "FIFA FX" will be a free source for everybody so that it can be used in other patches too ...Then soon, hopefully, all patches will feature displayed badges in the popups, unlimited stadium-numbers, etc.You can read the whole explanation (in german and english) over at www.fifatology.de Kind regards from Germany, Stefan Münstedt Note from Joe: I've gone over to check out the stuff that I already haven't downloaded. :-) Be Back Soon! ![]() I am sure there is something there to interest everyone. Check out the Downloads Centre today! Posted by Matt ![]() ![]() I'm sure everyone here has heard of UMBRO. We all know they make excellent football gear that is worn by some of the most respected and well-known clubs in the world. One thing though that you may not know about UMBRO is that they have recently launched an awesome website known as UMBRO.COM. If you find yourself browsing through the Soccer Gaming websites, it is obvious you have a true passion for football and are more than keen to get the most enjoyment possible out of the sport we live, sleep and breathe by. Let me tell you this, UMBRO.COM is the place for you. UMBRO.COM is no ordinary football website. Not only does UMBRO.COM boast on the minute news, exclusive articles, interviews and low price deals on all UMBRO merchandise, but it is also home to an awesome collection of live streaming football videos and highlight reels you won't find anywhere else. If you want to relive footballing memories you can see classic clips, such as all the goals from the 1966 World Cup final, and that magical moment when Bobby Moore lifted the Jules Rimet trophy. ![]() All aspiring Michael Owen's, whether young or old, can now get one step closer to their dream thanks to UMBRO.COM's new Skills Centre (pictured in above right screen shot). From Michael Owen's preparation to Henrik Larsson's penalty technique, UMBRO.COM has got tips from the masters of their art. On top of this, some of the games most respected managers are on hand to give their coaching tips. Whether you're looking to improve your own on-field game, or maybe you even want to try some of these tips in FIFA 2001, the UMBRO.COM Skills Centre is a must visit. By far my favourite part of UMBRO.COM is the Foosball Game in the Fun & Games section. It's a completely free online game and as close as you'll get to the real thing online. It's fast paced addictive fun. You control the players with your keyboard and see if you can beat the computer. If you're good enought to win, there are even prizes up for grabs. Trust me, you have to try this! ![]() If you're a regular Soccer Gaming visitor, I am certain after one trip to UMBRO.COM you'll be updating your bookmarks immediately. Take my advice, pay a trip to UMBRO.COM and you won't be disappointed. Posted by Matt ![]() Yes, yes! The countdown for the weekend is finally over. Posted by Matt | Have Your Shout | ![]() We received some news about this very special patch from it's creator Chris. This is a patch made especially for the Victims of the 1 January Volendam fire. And here is what Chris wants to say about it: "01-01-2001 - The close knit community spirit of a small Dutch fishing town is helping residents begin to come to terms with a New Year tragedy which claimed 10 lives. The 10 died when a café crowded with celebrating young people became engulfed in flames and smoke shortly after midnight on New Year's Day. More than 180 people were injured. The youngest victim so far was 13-years-old, with the others all aged under 25. 27-02-2001 - Volendam stadium is home to the benefit match between FC Volendam and the Friends of Volendam team, a team full of stars: Gullit, Van Basten, Koeman, Kanu. After this match I decided to make a patch together with international FIFA-stars, so we'll never forget this special Match, trying to raise money for Giro 800 by letting sponsors pay a small amount of money for every time the patch is downloaded." You can find all this and more at the FIFA First website! Posted by Joe ![]() Well, what do you know... yet more soccer wallpapers at Fifa COLOMBIA! They seem not to take a minute off. Now its time for Greek and Italian fans to come on over to Fifa COLOMBIA. Why, you ask? Because they have just published 2 new wallpapers from Olympiacos Pireaus and Italian giants AC Milan! But Fifa COLOMBIA is not just wallpapers. For all you people who just LOVED Fifa 99... well, they'll soon be bringing you a big surprise, as we are now working on "dusting off" the old Fifa 99 pop-ups and bringing them back to life in FIFA 2000!!! Posted by Joe ![]() I have received an email from the man running the site at http://www.fifa2001worldcup.homestead.com/index.html. This is what he had to say: "After about a month of time in development of my patch, I have decided to change the plans slightly. I was originally planning on relying purely on donations from people who make kits, which was actually rather successful (46 teams now done). However, I have decided that it would be much wiser to get an actual team of kit makers who want to devote themselves purely to this patch. I will still gladly accept kits from people too busy to become fully involved, but this practice will take a backseat to the teams' own published kits. There are simply too many for me to do alone, so I hope to get a group of at least 4-5 guys. Obviously, experience in kit making is needed, and it should be noted that I will be using only 256 color kits (the "old technique") simply because the other methods do not work on all computers. I already have a few possibilities, so if you would like to join the team visit my site and give me an email." With that said, visit his site and, like he said, email him if you are willing to help. It will be much appreciated. Posted by Joe ![]() ![]() The best day of the week by far is upon us. No work, no school, ample sport on TV and a great day to enjoy FIFA 2001.
