Hear the Downloads
A wise man once said, "I hear voices, and they don't like you". Well, we sure do hear voices, but they're telling us to keep you informed about the daily downloads from the Downloads Centre. We better get cracking at showing you today's group of downloads, because those voices do some crazy things when you don't do what they want:
  • Olimpico Di Roma RS (see screenshot below) & Olimpico SS Lazio RS stadiums (screenshot)
  • Bayern München 2GK Home, Away & Champions League (screenshot) & Rangers 2GK Home & Away kits
  • Funny But Realistic & RTWC 2002 Gameplay patches
  • Face Package Volume IV (see screenshot below) in the FIFA 2001 Faces section
  • Barcelona menu (screenshot)
Click to enlarge.. Click to enlarge..
Face Package Volume IV and Roma Stadia

It's those voices again. They keep telling me to say "I like Liver". Make it stop, make it stop! They keep saying it. Do you like Liver? I like liver, we all like liver. I think you should like liver!

(Note: Joe Lemon's views of liver is a personal opinion, and does not reflect Soccer Gaming and its affiliates views of liver)

Xavier Baez has sent us some news regarding his FIFALA, here is what he had to say:

"Fifala has changed its URL to: fifa.gamestats.com
Fifacentre has also a new URL: fifa.gamestats.com/fifala/fifaexpress

Now its fifa.gamestats.com and it will be there for a couple of weeks until we change the registrant. However all the other sites (such as fifamania.net, fifacentre.com) will be ready this week

FIFA gAmEpLaY pAtCh 2001
Nick Clubman's FIFA gAmEpLaY pAtCh 2001 is nearly finished. His friend Alvin Luchmun has sent him his Mega Roster 4 update which he said he could use with his patch.

What he's done is edited the players attributes and made the goal keepers in teams better. He has also made his own ISS style 'aimain' file.

He asked me to inform all of you wonderful people as he says you will want something to keep you going before FIFA 2002 is released. There will be more versions of this patch in the future, with or without updated rosters as he has not yet decided.

Interviewing EA, Sony and Microsoft at 3E
I've been lucky enough to score appointments to meet with EA, Sony and Microsoft reps at 3E this year. On top of trying all the new games and consoles, I'll also get a chance to ask them some questions about soccer games and their opinions on the industry. If there is anything you'd like to find out, make sure you post it in our "E3 - The Questions You Want Answered" forum topic.

What Would You Like To Ask EA, Sony or Microsoft?

On FIFA note, I'm actually going to be getting a chance to see FIFA 2002 behind closed doors. I've been told to expect a whole new and improved gameplay system. I'll be equipped with a digital camera, meaning you won't miss a thing.

Support Treebeard - A FIFA Community Legend
One of the longest serving and most respected members of the FIFA community, Treebeard, needs our support. After some recent critism by unappreciative low-lifes in his forum, Treebeard is having second thoughts about continuing his popular FIFA roster updates at his site, Treebeard's FIFA Rosters. In an email to me today he had this to say:
"Over the past few years I have provdided updates as a free service to FIFA gamers and the response has usually been excellent. Granted, one or two errors may slip in and the use of FEd may mean a few bugs here and there but each roster release is subsequently built upon and they are never final until the release of a new FIFA game.

The updates are done in my own spare time. 10hours was spent this past weekend updating many of the international teams. I have a job which takes about 60hours a week and a wife to spend time with. I don't have time for the endless criticism or to reply to every message board post nor to I spend hours in front of my PC playing games night after night. I do have a life!

If people says player ratings are incorrect, bear in mind that they are the EA ratings unless the player was created my me and I am more than happy to update them and accomodate suggestions where possible but the comment in one message posted today has made me think that perhaps I will no longer be releasing updates for FIFA2001 or any other future FIFA release from now on. I may well release v0.7 as a lot of work has gone into it but after this. the site may well close and you can go somewhere else to save you the time of updating your games. Some people out there really do need to get a life!"
We all need to rally behind Treebeard and make sure he doesn't leave the FIFA scene. He has been an excellent figure in the FIFA community for so long! Make sure you send him an email with your support, or Post Your Comments on this topic. Let's not let the pathetic attitudes of a few people spoil it for everyone!

A Football Frenzy for Downloads
Before we begin today's succulent serving of roast beef and yorkshire pudding, I would like to congratulate Bayern Munich, of course, for their win against Real Madrid. Good playing, but as a lot of us like to say "Auf Wedersehen". I hope Valencia is ready for the team that is Bayern Munich!

I hope I made some enemies in today's post, after all, that is my goal. Let's hope you didn't take that seriously. Nonetheless, here is today's downloads update brought to you by Lior, the lone man at the Downloads Centre:
  • Nike and The Rock balls in the FIFA 2001 Balls section
  • Marcelo Salas (screenshot) and Zinedine Zidane faces
  • A Nottingham Forest badge
  • A Division One kits pack and Real Madrid (screenshot) and Perth Glory kits (see screenshot below)
  • An All Stars roster
  • The Parc des Princes stadium (see screenshot below)
Click to enlarge.. Click to enlarge..
Perth Glory kits and the Parc des Princes

Now we must say a sad, but not forever, goodbye to Lior. He is now a busy little bumblebee, so he will have to leave the scene for a few months. At the Downloads Centre, I will be taking Lior's spot for the time being. So for now, Lior our friend, Goodbye! (Lior rides his "Downloads Horse" into the sunset. Ouch, he fell off! That's got to hurt!)
