Great Fantasy Kits Mega Pack
Shlomy Sharabani has very kindly sent the MRA site a great looking Mega Pack of 38 of his own developed kits. He has decided to provide these so people can officially use his kits in their patches as long as they give him the credit.

Click for larger image   Click for larger image

Shlomy will also soon be releasing his Latin American Stars v Uefa European Stars patch which he has developed all the features, including the excellent faces. It will include:

  • kits
  • flags
  • badges
  • players faces

Shlomy needs some help as he has used FEd2001 to create this patch and when he has associated the faces with the players and then exports the team, the .TEA file has the wrong face against the wrong player. If anybody knows how to resolve this can you please e-mail Shlomy.

Meanwhile, you can download this excellent mega pack of kits direct from the MRA site's Patches Database.

FIFAustralasia Announcements
The self-proclaimed "small website" FIFAustralia has now reopened under a different name. The website will now be covering New Zealand and the rest of the Pacific, and as always, Australia.

The new and improved FIFAustralasia has revamped their downloads area and news sections.

You can visit FIFAustralasia by clicking here. But before you do that, please take a read of a cool idea from the webmaster of FIFAustralasia:
As a thought, I have suggested a "Thank FIFA Gamers Day". A day to thank all the people who make our FIFA experience a little bit better. This day will be Wednesday, August 1st. What I suggest is to find out the e-mail address(es) of your favourite FIFA add-on and article creators and writers and send them your thoughts and thank you's.

Don't be shy, this sort of encouragement will help FIFA gaming in the long run, and send in those e-mails on "Thank FIFA Gamers Day", August 1st.

The Largest Update Ever
It's been a few days since the last Downloads Centre update here on this site, but this must be the largest downloads update ever - here on FIFA 2001 Online. That might be because I've just smashed all the downloads from the past few updates together, but hey, it looks bigger:
  • Romanian Top Menu (screenshot)
  • IFK Göteborg Away, Rosenborg 01-02 Home, Southampton 01-02 Away (screenshot), Juventus 01-02 Home (screenshot), Real Madrid 2GK 01-02 Away (screenshot), Djurgĺrden 2GK Home & Away
  • Mark Viduka (screenshot), Gabriel Batistuta & Dacourt (screenshot) faces
  • France 2GK Away kit
  • Barcelona 2GK 01-02 Goalkeeper v1.0 (see screenshot below), Everton 2GK Goalkeeper & Korean 2GK Goalkeeper kits
  • Sweet Nike Ball v1.0
  • Boots
  • Arsenal 01-02 Roster Update & Transfer Update
  • Besiktas JK (screenshot) & Egyptian Team (screenshot) badges
  • The Ultimate Star Kits Pack Volume 2 (see screenshot below)
  • AC Milan Fantasy Away v2.0 (screenshot)
Click to enlarge.. Click to enlarge..

Okay, it might not be the largest ever, but 22 files is sufficient, isn't it.

FIFA 2002 - Something To Get Excited About
The official FIFA 2002 website has just gone live and with it comes an avalanche of FIFA 2002 information and goodies.

Now, where do I start? Firstly there are a bunch of new PS2 FIFA 2002 screenshots. You can now begin to take a look at the new player detail and the various player heights are certainly very obvious.

Q: "Will there be a "Rest of the World" section?"

A: There will be upwards of 20 teams in the ROW league from Europe, Asia and South America.

There are plenty of questions answered including EA admitting to reading the popular FIFA 2002 wishlist.

There is plenty for you to do over at the official FIFA 2002 websiteso make sure you check it out today and then head straight for our FIFA 2002 Forum to give your opinions on how FIFA 2002 is shaping up.

FIFA 2002 Movie Removed - More Coming Soon
EA Sports have been in contact with me and asked for the FIFA 2002 movie to be removed. A spokesman at EA said:
"We've asked for the movie to be removed as it's not an official video and was created pre-alpha - plus I'm not sure how it got onto the internet. It looks like the video we were thinking of giving out at E3 but given the fact the new trappings, shot model, camera angles etc weren't in the build at the time we didn't feel it was a fair representation of FIFA 2002. We are currently creating a load of video's which do show the new game in full and are much much smaller and quicker to download than this one.

I'll keep in touch with Matt Holme to ensure you guys see it first - hopefully within the next week. Thanks for your patience and understanding and also the feedback we get from your forum - we ARE listening!"
Stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.

One thing that we have noticed in the early screenshots are the "glowing colours" around the players who are making runs. Perhaps this is a new feature EA are incorporating in the new passing system. Be sure to check out all the shots, plus some new sketches in our FIFA 2002 section.

In regards to the FIFA 2002 movie we mentioned last week... it is still coming. We've been told by EA they will be uploading it to our FTP server on Monday. I will personally be hassling them until they do ;-)

Jerseyland Is Back
Great news for all FIFA 2001 fans was released today by Robert at Soccered. The Jerseyland has been relaunched meaning literally hundreds of quality new kits will be released. Here is what Robert had to say:
"About a year ago a site closed down, because it was not equipped for the future, the server was poor and the design was worse. However, this site was still popular becasuse it offered to our community something that we all want, a home for the best kits on the web. After many e-mails of concern about whether it would rise again we have relaunched The Jerseyland. The site will have in the next couple weeks over 900 kits for all the major leagues in Fifa 2001. All the kits will be top class as they will all be made by one person.

To kick off the relaunch we have released 76 never before seen kits. These kits make up every kit for the English Premier League and the Spanish Primera Liga. As a bonus, the kits are revised for the 2001-2002 season."

Over the next few days there will be Serie A and Bundeliga kits released. Make sure you pay a trip to The Jersey Land today.

Two "Must Have" Downloads
I thought I'd let you know about two new files that are available in the Downloads Centre which I personally recommend to everyone.

Firstly, from the guys who brought you the very useful Sweetpatch MRA utility comes one of the easiest and simplest to use programs out. If you're looking to change your FIFA 2001 menu backgrounds the new Sweetpatch Menu Master (M2) is for you. You don't need any editing experience to use this program. You simply click a couple of buttons and your favourite wallpaper or image can be transported into the background of your FIFA 2001 menues. Make sure you pay a trip to the MRA website where there is more info.

Menu Manager (M2)
The second is created by the first man to ever build new stadium for a FIFA game, Giorgio Lunardon. Now almost four years later, he is still creating magnificent structures for your FIFA games. His latest creation, Seoul Stadium, will get your game ready for World Cup 2002.

In other news, I'll be personally talking with EA tonight and trying my hardest to get that FIFA 2002 movie file and if I'm successful I'll upload it right away.
