![]() ![]() I am very sorry I havent posted news here for a long period. I was extremely busy with school and other stuff, I hope you understand me. Fortunately I will spend more time on FIFA2001.com cause the big work from my school is over. Later on this month a new FIFA 2001 site will open. Dutch FIFA2001 and Benelux FIFA2001 will be co-operating. It'll be the biggest Dutch FIFA site in the whole world and of course in the fifa-scene. By the way, almost every day I am receiving FIFA files/patches and other downloads stuff. Remember, I am no longer the Downloads manager, Lior has that job so send your files to him please... Oh and if you've got FIFA news, you're news is always welcome in my mailbox! Posted by Philippe ![]() ![]() Well, not only have I kept my promise and delivered 10 PSX screen shots here today, I have also almost got rid of my tonsillitis days before I should even be STARTING to AND I have managed to find 9 MORE decent PSX screen shots and posted them up here! It would have been a perfect day if I hadn't just found out my beloved Tranmere are to play Leeds United in the next round of the Worthington Cup.. Gulp! We won't be reaching the final this year! Anyway, click this link to go to PSX Screen Shots Page 2 and this link to go to PSX Screen Shots Page 3. ![]() ![]() Posted by Chris ![]() There has been a great response to the FAQ that EA posted on their Official Site a couple of days ago. I have just sent in 10 new questions direct from our FIFA 2001 Forum. These are set to be answered and posted at EA's site very soon. Here is what I sent in this week: 1. With the release this week of the Leagues and National Teams that will feature in FIFA 2001, many users are questioning why certain popular Leagues and Teams were left out of the game. Why are world-class teams such as Portugual and Leagues like the Mexican, Argentine, Australian and Turkish League just to name a few not included in FIFA 2001? 2. Will there be a power shot bar incorporated into FIFA 2001? 3. Will there be a limit on transfers and kit and team adjustments as in the past? 4. Will there be a way to make one of your players mark an opposing player as is done in real life rather than the bland zone defense? 5. Has there been work on a better way to score on a direct or corner kick rather than having to set a play. For example it is always more fun when you do it yourself rather than program a play. 6. Will the referees and linesmen be more realistic in FIFA 2001? 7. Will there definitely be linesman and if so will their flags be raised when player are offside or when they spot a foul? 8. Will there be the option to chose the stadium where we want to play? 9. The goal keepers seem to "fly" in FIFA 2000. Will they be more reaslistic in FIFA 2001? 10. Will there be any new crowd chants in FIFA 2001? Next week we'll send in another 10 questions. If you still have some queries about FIFA 2001 that we haven't asked yet, visit our FIFA 2001 Forum and post them there. Posted by Joe ![]() First off, I have to apologise for being so late when I said the second page of PlayStation screen shots would be arriving in 24 hours.. Which I said on Tuesday... It seems that I've caught tonsillitis along with a mild flu bug, which is delaying my work here at FIFA 2001 Online and my college work. But I have been told by my doctor that it should clear up by Monday if I take penicillin for 5 days (no Tranmere match for me this weekend!), but the PSX screen shots page 2 will still be posted before the weekend (in about 15 hours time) - And I will stick to that deadline this time! Sorry to get your hopes up PSX FIFA fans.. Posted by Chris ![]() ![]() Today over at the MRA site they have the Slavia Prague and Czech Republic forward Pavel Kuka Skin for your MRA. Posted by Dave ![]() Finally EA have named the 17 leagues that will feature in FIFA 2001. They are England, France, German, Italy, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Scotland, Greece, Israel, Austria, Brazil, Korea and MLS. Lots of great leagues named there but I'm sure they'll be some unhappy South Americans and Australians as a result of that news. However, do not stress FIFA fans. The main purpose of this website is to make the game better, and with the obvious increase in the amount of kits (due to sponsors now being displayed on all club team kits) there will be great opportunities for all the talented FIFA editors out there to add those leagues to FIFA 2001. And with our awesome Downloads Centre set to open very soon, add-ons for FIFA 2001 will be in abundance. Come back later today. Chris has a bunch of new PS2 and PSX Screen Shots of FIFA 2001 that he'll be uploading. Posted by Matt ![]() My good friend Jack, from EA Thailand has informed me that their FIFA 2001 page has a few great new FIFA 2001 goodies. Posted by Dave ![]() ![]() We have just received this very exciting news from Euro-Ball: "It's us again here in www.euro-ball.com with a new Fifa 2001 page that has just been added to our Fifa 2001 section! We've managed to collect more than 120 mb of video clips showing off all the great new features of Fifa 2001. The videos are capturing of in-game action in the FIFASoccer title, the earlier release of Fifa 2001 for the PS2, some were taken in the show floor in E3, some show us how exactly the motion capturing was done and you can also find the official trailer of Fifa 2001 for the PS2, which was released by EA several days ago. In the Gallery you can find snaps of all the clips and download them all right from our site." I for one will definately be checking these video's out and you can too by visiting the Euro-Ball website. Posted by Matt ![]() ![]() EA have informed me that the questions I sent in from our Forums are being answered by the EA Dev Team as I type. I have also been lucky enough to get a sneak-peak of the Official FIFA 2001 website and let me tell you it looks magnificent! There is a lot of new content available such as all the box art, stadium screen shots and technical specification. We'll let you know here at FIFA 2001 Online as soon as the site goes live so that you can check out all this cool new stuff plus the answers to your questions. Posted by Matt ![]() ![]() Last Thursday I asked everyone to post their questions they'd like sent into EA in our Forums. The response was overwhelming with over 60 replies to the one topic. Each week I will personally be selecting 10 questions to send into EA. I have just sent in this weeks 10 questions that are set to be answered by EA on their official website which is scheduled to go live within 24 hours. With such a huge response, obviously not everyone's questions could be sent in. However, I have viewed them all and taken a selection of some of the most asked questions. If you're question wasn't sent in this week, the odds are it will be asked and answered next week. So stay tuned to FIFA 2001 Online for news on the launch of EA's FIFA 2001 official site. As soon as EA notifies us of its release we'll post the URL here and you can all pay their site a visit and read the answers to this week's questions. If you still have questions for EA, be sure to visit our Forum and post them. Visit the FIFA 2001 Forum today and click on the "Ask EA a FIFA 2001 Question" topic and post your question. I will personally select what I consider to be the top 10 questions and send them direct to the European Product Manager of FIFA at EA. This was their idea and we here at Soccer Gaming will give it our full support to help EA listen to the FIFA community and improve their FIFA games. Posted by Matt ![]() After posting the news on the UK release date yesterday, one of the guys at EA Sports emailed me to explain that both the UK and Australian release dates are scheduled for November 3rd. The earlier date I posted was simply the date the game will begin to ship, however it won't be seen in the shops until atleast November 3rd. Posted by Matt ![]() As promised earlier, I've just uploaded 7 high-resolution images of some of the start football players that will feature in FIFA 2001. The talented art team at EA have brought players like Edgar Davids, Paul Scholes and Lothar Mattheaus to life as computer genrated images. Check out our Screen Shots section for all the players in action.
I'm sure these images will be popular focal points on a lot FIFA 2001 sites that are deisgned in the near future ;-) Posted by Matt ![]() ![]() Kevin posted some interesting news on a new FIFA 2001 trailer at Soccer Gaming. Posted by Matt ![]() EA UK totday announced that FIFA 2001 will be released in the UK on the 3rd of November, 2000. This comes as a shock with EA Australia earlier this week announcing an October 24th release date. Why the delay in the UK? We don't know. Soccer Gaming's Joey Jones suggested that perhaps there was no petrol left in the UK delivery trucks to get it to the stores ;-) That's just his opinion though. No matter what the release date is though, you can still order FIFA 2001 from the Soccer Gaming Online Shop. Posted by Matt ![]() ![]() EA Sports Europe has posted a new video of FIFA 2001 on their website. The video appears to be a 30 second promotion set to the official FIFA 2001 song Moby's Body Rock for the upcoming game. You can see it by clicking here. Posted by Kevin ![]() ![]() Our first FIFA 2001 Online Language site has opened. Pay it a visit and share your point of view. Posted by Matt ![]() Yesterday's post concerning the FIFA 2001 music artist has sparked a lot of discussion. With Euro-Ball's server obviously being unavailable for a short period of time, I only thought it would be fair to those of you who are interested to announce that infact the man behind the FIFA 2001 music will be MOBY. Posted by Matt ![]() ![]() We have received the following news from Nati over at Euro-Ball with more exclusive Fifa 2001 info: "With all the latest happenings here in Euro-Ball, Fifa 2001 takes a big and major place in our plans and interest so we do our best to get the latest info about this great game for you all. Screenshots and official info of this game are already available both in our site and all other sites of the community but what about some behind the scene info? The question is, who will be featured as Fifa 2001's music artist? And we have got the answer! The official words from EA about the new artist and even a small portrait picture of him on stage are all available in our site right now". Pop over to Euro-Ball to check out this exciting news. Posted by Matt ![]() To celebrate the grand opening of FIFA 2001 Online we have posted 8 brand new, never before seen screen shots of the PC version of FIFA 2001 in our ever-growing Screen Shots section. These ones are obviously from a newer build of the game with some awesome lighting effects now visible. Two of the eight new shots can be seen below.
Expect to see our Screen Shots section expand greatly over the next few weeks. Posted by Matt ![]() Those of you who have followed the Soccer Gaming network of FIFA sites will know that every year, along with our English website, we give other multi-lingual webmasters the chance to develop their own foreign version of our FIFA website. This year is no different. Infact, with our ability to secure the fifa2001.com domain name, we are even more serious this time around about developing truely world-class foreign FIFA 2001 websites to match it with the best on the net today. If you move your eyes down to the bottom of our right menu, you'll see a huge list of "Language" websites that are either available to be developed, or under-development and I type. Stefan and his crew from GF0 2000 will be taking care of german.fifa2001.com, while the guys from FIFAMANIA.IT, Brazilian FIFA 2000 Online, Iran FIFA 2000 Online and Dutch FIFA 2000 Online have their respective fifa2001.com sub-domains reserved. This leaves the door open for teams of dedicated webmasters to begin an awesome FIFA website in their own country's tongue. In particular, we feel there is a huge opening for a second dedicated Hebrew/Israeli FIFA 2001 site to be put together by a dedicated team of Israeli FIFA lovers. We all know that http://he.euro-ball.com is the best Hebrew FIFA site by a country mile, however there is always room for a second good website. If you feel you have the time, skills and dedication to develop one of these "Language" FIFA 2001 sites be sure to email me with all of your details and skills plus any questions you may have. Posted by Matt ![]() Yes, that's right, we want to expand our team. With this site having such huge potential, we are in need for a full-time assistant webmaster who has past experience and excellent skills in all areas of site development. We need someone who has a good understanding of HTML and other coding, is online for long periods everyday, while also having a real interest in everything FIFA. If you feel you can dedicate a large slice of your internet time to helping develop FIFA 2001 Online with the rest of the dedicated crew, be sure to contact me with all the information you think will help you get the job. We're also looking to develop a team of designers and editors for FIFA 2001. If you're a kit designer, stadium designer, patch developer etc. and want to be part of the most respected and popular FIFA 2001 team, also drop me a line with your details and examples of your work. Posted by Matt ![]() It gives me great pleasure to finally declare this website officially open. Over the past three years, I have been lucky enough to be in charge of some very successful and popular FIFA websites, yet never have I been as excited about a new site, than I am with this one. FIFA 2001 Online is set to become your one stop for everything that is associated with FIFA 2001. From our soon to open interactive Downloads Centre, to our huge array of FIFA community news, FIFA 2001 Online will take your FIFA gaming experience to its maximum enjoyment level. This year we've been able to form a partnership with EA Sports which will see members of their development team visit FIFA 2001 Online for regular scheduled chat sessions, and to answer questions in especially moderated Forums. The list of coming attractions don't stop there. We've got several big surprises in store that are yet to be seen on the FIFA scene and are currently under-development as I type. What can you expect in the upcoming weeks though? Lots of FIFA 2001 news, prize give-aways and screen shots! Just check out the new news that has come to hand today to get an idea of the kind of info that'll be hitting your screens each day as the release of FIFA 2001 draws closer. Last but not least, I must send a special thank you out to all the guys who helped create this site. The incredible design in front of you was put together by our own, Rich Buttler. Be sure to give us your opinion on it by voting in our new Poll.
