Week Four Questions
31. Will FIFA 2001 include the Rest of World League catagory like previous FIFA versions?

The rest of the World League category will be included. However, this year it will only contain Galatasaray.

32. Will the coaches and benches be inanimate or will they be animated (i.e Substitutes warming up)?

The sideline activity is brand new for us this year - we have the coaches and players on the bench animated and excitedly participating in the game. As with all of our features, we had to balance the amount of stuff we add with how much time we have - look for substitutes warming up in the future!

33. Will players on the pitch react accordingly to various weather conditions such as skidding when turning abruptly during heavy rain and snow and clothes getting dirty?

This is always a tricky proposition - while it would be realistic for players to skid or fall during heavy weather, the question is would it be fun for the gamer? Would it be something they could avoid repeating? First we want to get cool realistic weather conditions, then we'll examine how it affects the players on the pitch.

34. Will there be any changes in the Transfer system?

Since we opted to concentrate improvements in specific areas of the game the transfer system will remain the same as previous years. This is something that we will be looking into improving for future versions.

35. Will fouls be better called - Are there any changes in the Referee's AI?

Every year we improve the referees and this year is no exception with us continuing to refine them further.

36. Can we change the players in national team squads in FIFA 2001?

We've expanded the number of players we have made available for the national teams in the PS2 and PC versions of the game. You can use the player and team edit features to customize the teams any way you want.

37. How many teams from each division will be avaliable for promotion?

This varies from league to league. Normally we include about 5 of the best clubs from the lower divisions in a pool for promotion.

38. When can we find out exactly which teams will be involved in FIFA 2001?

You can see the International teams by checking out the leagues link on this site. The exact teams will be posted shortly. Note: We have posted complete list of teams and leagues here

39. Will EA Sports be releasing official patches with bug fixes and add-ons for FIFA 2001?

While we may release an official patch with bug fixes if needed, there is no current plan to release add-ons...yet.

40. Have there been any changes to the advertisement boards around the stadiums? Many people are wondering if each stadium/league will have its own unique set of advertising boards like in real life?

We've localized the addboards for various countries. If you select an English team as the home side you'll notice a different set of advertisements than if you choose a Spanish side.
