This is the first of two reviews of the new Sweetpatch. In a few days a new beta version will be released and I will also review that one.

Sweetpatch Review No. 1 (28/11/00)
I have had the privilege of being a beta tester for the excellent FIFA-MRA since the end of April this year. Before I became a beta tester I used the program all of the time and found it the best thing since sliced bread. And so, I was eagerly awaiting the latest instalment - MRA Sweeetpatch. When I finally had it in my mailbox, I installed it straight away and opened it to see what was inside.

The first thing I saw was the familiar artwork from the new website. The sexy, green haired lady, with the caption "I'm ready to play! are you?" displayed next to her. The new layout of the program is much better. It now resembles that of a website, with a menu bar on the left containing the different sections of the program. The familiar Settings, Patches and Skins sections are still present.

Settings:

The add game option has been vastly improved. You can now let Sweetpatch automatically search your computer for each FIFA game you have installed and prompt you to include it. As all games from FIFA 98 (both RTWC and WC) to FIFA 2001 (including EURO 2000) are now supported by the new Sweetpatch, it will find the games on your computer within a few seconds.

It's now as easy as ever to pick which of the 19 languages, that Sweetpatch supports, you wish to view the program in. More great news for the next version, is that soon you will be able to convert Sweetpatch into ANY, yes that's right, ANY language!!

The other two options on the settings tab are the familiar save and remove game settings.

Patches:

When all of the settings are in place, we move onto the Patches section.

The layout and options are very similar to the last version of the MRA. With the option to use your favourites and to easily select which game you wish to install a patch for.

The newest feature of the program comes with the FIFA 2001 compatibility. Now you can install FIFA 2001 kits using Sweetpatch. The new program includes gfxpak and this install's and uninstall's your kits into the game!! Brilliant addition!

Skins:

You still have the ability to use new skins in the program. Your current skins WILL work with Sweetpatch, but now the layout is different you will have to re-design them as parts that were visible in the last program are not in this!!

Patch Previewer:

We (the beta testers) have yet to get our hands on this new feature, but apparently soon we will be able to view the different graphics in the patches - I can't wait!!

On all sections, you still have the option to run the game from inside Sweetpatch!!

The Verdict:

The MRA hasn't let us down in the past and Sweetpatch has continued that trend. Now your MRA is as easy to use and as good looking as ever. Get ready people - Sweetpatch is soon to be unleashed!!
